Club News Oct 2016

The Woodbridge Music Club Yearbooks are out, and if you have not received yours yet, please contact Emily Baird so we can send that out to you. Bill Riski has also updated our Woodbridge Music Club website so the 2016-2017 Calendar of Events, along with other information from the yearbook, is now up to date. There is one correction in the yearbook – The Woodbridge Music Club Senior Scholarship Competition discussed on page 20 should be listed as Monday, May 8th, not March 4th. It is correctly listed in the Calendar of Events, so please make a pen and ink change on page 20.

Please note the following upcoming events:

• October 22: Sejoon Park, piano, 7:00 pm, St. Paul United Methodist Church 1400 G St., Woodbridge, VA

• October 27: Violin Master Class - Emil Chudnovsky, violin, 5:00 pm, Hylton Performing Arts Center, 10960 George Mason Circle, Manassas, VA

• November 5: Student Recital, 2:00 pm, St. Paul United Methodist Church 1400 G Street, Woodbridge, VA (Note: Postmark Deadline: October 24)

• November 19: Flute Master Class - Staff Sergeant Troy Paolantonio, Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps, 9:00 am, Grace United Methodist Church 9750 Wellington Road, Manassas, VA

• November 19: WMC Member’s Concert, 7:00 pm, St. Paul United Methodist Church 1400 G St., Woodbridge, VA

I want to particularly note the Member’s Concert on November 19th. This is one of our key events for the year, where the Woodbridge Music Club gets to showcase the talent and exceptional musicianship of our members. It’s an opportunity for each of us to perform in a more formal setting for our peers, students, family, and other music lovers in our community. Please let June Shuffett know as soon as possible if you are interested in performing in this concert.

Also, I found out that two of our members, Leslie Bennett and Patty Parker, will be performing this Sunday, 3:00 pm, at the The Lyceum, 201 S. Washington Street, Alexandria, Virginia. They will perform Franz Schubert's Eleen Gesang I, II, and III. This is a Friday Morning Music Club concert and is open to the public if you would like to attend.

I look forward to seeing all of you at the Sejoon Park concert next Saturday, October 22!
