Music in Poetry Contest

Every year the National Federation of Music Clubs sponsors the Angie Greer Music In Poetry Contest for Juniors. This is a wonderful opportunity for your students to be creative in a different way.

The general rules and application can be found in the NFMC Manual on page 114 and 114a. If you need copies, please let me know. Your teachers should be informed of this contest and the application should be made available to them.

The rules are as follows:
1. The poem must be an original, unpublished creation of the entrant.
2. Any form of poetry is acceptable. The poem should have a musical theme.
3. The poem should be no longer than 30 lines and no shorter than 8 lines.
4. The poem must be typed on white paper and have a title
5. The state chairman must receive the poem mo later than February 15
6. Complete the application and attach it to the poem.
