May 2009 Newsletter

Letter from the President

May 1, 2009

Dear Fellow WMC Members,

Summer is just around the corner and with it brings the end of the 2009-10 year for the
Woodbridge Music Club. It has been an active year and I am looking forward to next year.

I have included a copy of the WMC Membership Application below and also sent it as a separate
attachment. This is a completely new form and includes questions that will enable us to better serve the
members of the club. Please take the time to complete it and mail it in by June 15 so that we can have
sufficient time to prepare next year’s WMC Yearbook and Directory.

The Woodbridge Music Club has grown tremendously this year. We want to continue in this
direction so that we have the resources to continue to bring in quality performing artists, provide teaching
workshops, offer performance opportunities for our members in evening programs and house concerts,
and provide more performance opportunities for our students. Many of you are members or directors of
different performance groups. Please spread the word about our club and encourage others to join. This
is a music organization for anyone who loves music. Our membership includes professional musicians,
music teachers, amateur musicians, and music lovers. We welcome and encourage all to join us.

The Senior Scholarship Competition took place on April 20. This competition is open to all
music students regardless of instrument. There was stiff competition and 3 winners were chosen.
Congratulations to all.

1st Place - Keaton Springfield, piano
2nd Place - Caitlin Beare, clarinet
3rd Place – Carol Farn, piano

The House Concert on April 25 was another success. Five members performed and we all
enjoyed an evening of music and friendship.
